Field day checklist

South Okanagan and Similkameen. Stop if a box cannot be checked.

1. Whose ground is this? Claim, park, reserve, and private land checked before a pocket fills.
2. Syilx territory acknowledged. The check is not a permit.
3. Water and bank left as found. No digging in a wetted channel.
4. Each keepable stone photographed in place, with a coin or ruler, before it is cleaned.
5. Specimen number written before the stone goes in the bag.
6. Public place name decided. A precise spot stays in the private log if it should not be published.
7. Material named only as far as the test supports. Color is not the test.
8. Nothing pocketed that you cannot carry out the same day.
